The car called Toyota Yaris Cross is already known to Ukrainian buyers: it is a very compact crossover built on the platform of the Toyota Yaris model. However, recently in Indonesia, Toyota introduced another model with a similar name – but it is a completely different car.
Firstly, the Toyota Yaris Cross crossover for Southeast Asia has a different design – it is not so much similar to the European Toyota Yaris Cross, but to large Toyota crossovers: a concentrated expression of the “face”, a large radiator grille, U-shaped overlays on the arches, additional windows behind. By the way, the latter seems to emphasize the increased dimensions of the novelty: 4.31-meter length and 2.62-meter wheelbase.
Secondly, the “different” Toyota Yaris Cross crossover also has a “different” interior: the steering wheel and 10-inch touch display have been changed, and a new climate control unit and central console have been installed. A 7-inch display can be installed as a dashboard. And in general, the car is distinguished by a good configuration: the Toyota Yaris Cross crossover can offer a panoramic roof, an all-round view, and a complex of TSS security systems.
And it can offer a choice of two power units. A regular gasoline 1.5-liter engine develops 106 hp and can be paired with a manual gearbox or a variator. An alternative option is a hybrid, which combines a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor – their total power is 112 hp. In any case, the drive will be front only.
It is expected that sales of the Toyota Yaris Cross car will start soon, while the targeted starting price will be at the level of 21.5-22 thousand euros. It seems that with such a list of specifications sizes, engines – and, of course, the price – this Toyota Yaris Cross crossover could find many fans not only in Indonesia but also in Ukraine.
