According to the latest financial report of Activision Blizzard, the company for the first time received more money from the PC game market than from the console games. This is reported by PC Gamer.

From January 1 to March 31, 2023, Activision Blizzard earned $666 million on PC versus $639 million on consoles. The difference seems to be small, but according to PC Gamer journalists, it will only grow. This is a very important shift in the revenue structure of Activision Blizzard, because since the 2000s, consoles have brought the company the most profits.

Blizzard projects earned the most on the PC market. And while Blizzard’s games make about half as much as Activision’s Call of Duty, 72% of that revenue comes from PC and just 8% from consoles. Revenue from Call of Duty is more evenly distributed – 59% console, 26% PC and 15% mobile platforms. Blizzard’s console audience could grow when in June 2023 Diablo 4 will be released simultaneously on PC and consoles for the first time in the series.

Well, it looks like the PC market is becoming more and more important for game publishers. Sony promises new PC ports of its exclusives in the future. And Microsoft, if they manage to unblock the deal with Activision Blizzard, will also not give up an additional share of the PC market.
