Sony presented two new speakers that are at different poles of its model range. If the SRS-XB100 model is a compact device costing $59, the SRS-XV800 is a massive sound system capable of lighting up your party, which costs $649. However, they have common features, in particular, both are portable devices.

The SRS-XV800 offers powerful and high-quality sound that fills the entire space, thanks to the presence of five tweeters (three in the front and two in the back) and two woofers. The speaker has a special TV Sound Booster mode, which should significantly expand the audio capabilities of almost any TV. The device can be connected to the TV using an optical cable.

The XV800 also has a karaoke mode and the option to connect an electric guitar. Fast Pair function is provided for quick connection of Android smartphones. And the Party Connect function allows you to combine up to 100 compatible speakers into one audio group and synchronize music playback on them.

The battery life of the XV800 is up to 25 hours. If you enable lighting effects, this figure will decrease slightly. At the same time, 10 minutes of charging will give an additional three hours of speaker operation. The novelty weighs approximately 18.5 kg. Sony has added wheels and handles to make it easier for you to transport it. I would also like to note that the speaker has IPX4 moisture protection (IPX2 in a horizontal position).

Now let’s talk about SRS-XB100. It has a similar design and a couple of bright body colors in addition to the classic black and gray. The speaker is equipped with a 46 mm speaker with a passive radiator. There is a Bluetooth 5.3 module for connecting to sound sources (SBC and AAC codecs are supported, Fast Pair mode, stereo pair formation), as well as a built-in microphone.

The XB100 has IP67 moisture protection. The capacity of the built-in battery should be enough for 16 hours of music playback. Charging takes place using the USB-C port.
