There is still a long time before the announcement of the iPhone 15 Pro, but the first insights about the next generation of Apple smartphones are starting to appear. According to well-known insider Ross Young, the company may increase the size of the display in the iPhone 16 line Pro, which is scheduled for release in 2024.

It is already known that future iPhone 15 Pro models will have displays similar to their predecessors, but rumors suggest that they will become larger in the iPhone 16 Pro. iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. Now, sources in the component supply channels say that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens.

Although the increase in display size is small, it will affect the overall size and weight of the iPhone. And if larger screens are exclusive to the Pro models, it will further differentiate them from the basic line of Apple smartphones.

Young also suggests that increasing display sizes will mean increasing aspect ratios. As bezels get smaller and displays get bigger, the iPhone’s form factor will have to change, and with it the software. However, it is still difficult to say how Apple in iOS and third-party developers will be able to use it.

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 16 no earlier than September 2024. Ming-Chi Kuo previously hinted that the iPhone 16 Pro could have screens without cutouts, but there are no more details about future smartphones yet.
