GPS trackers have been on the market for quite some time. They help not to lose personal things, for example, keys or wallet, or even find your cat. Of course, Apple added to the popularity of this category of gadgets by releasing its own AirTag tracker. Android users, in turn, have to use third-party solutions such as Tile, or if you own a Samsung smartphone, you can choose Galaxy SmartTag.
However, it seems that an alternative to the AirTag tracker for Android devices from Google will soon appear on the market. Rumors about this started in the beginning of the year.
One of the users noticed that a new icon signed Nest Locator Tag appeared in Google Fonts.
I never noticed it before, but interestingly there is a Material Icons for a "Nest Locator Tag" in Google Fonts 🤔 pic.twitter.com/a9TdN9iUN8

This may indicate that Google is actively preparing for the announcement of the gadget, which will probably be officially presented at the I/O 2023 conference on May 10. It was previously reported that the Nest team is developing the device, so it makes sense that it will get the appropriate branding in the name. The tracker will support UWB and Bluetooth LE technologies.
However, it is also worth noting that Google already has a device called the Nest Tag (main image). It is designed to disarm or activate the Nest Secure alarm and has the same shape as the icon.
We will most likely find out the truth very soon. In the meantime, write in the comments if you use GPS trackers.
