Sony Xperia 1 V will be presented on May 11

Sony flagships may not be sold in such quantities as the company would like, but the Japanese remain true to their vision of a top smartphone. And very soon we will see a new iteration of the Xperia 1 flagship.

Sony published a small teaser in which it promises to show “Next ONE” in a couple of weeks – on May 11. The event will be broadcast on the company’s YouTube channel, starting at 7:00 Kyiv time.

The appearance of the Xperia 1 V is almost unchanged compared to its predecessor. Also, the 3.5 mm audio jack and microSD card slot will not disappear anywhere. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will be responsible for performance, and the amount of RAM should increase to 16 GB. The smartphone will receive a camera unit consisting of a main 12 MP module, a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12 MP telephoto lens. Front camera – 12 MP.

There are no questions about the Xperia 1 V specifications, but there may be questions about the presentation date. After all, Google will hold its I/O 2023 conference on May 10, and the Pixel 7a smartphone should go on sale on May 11, so the main focus will be on new products from Google. Is this a strategy from Sony?
