Finally, the long-awaited Volkswagen ID.7 electric car is presented, which should become a worthy competitor of the Tesla Model 3 and take the position of the flagship of the ID line.
The challenges are not easy, but is the Volkswagen ID.7 electric car ready for them and what “trump cards” does it have? For example, considerable dimensions: the total length of the body approaches the 5-meter mark, and the wheelbase has almost reached 3 meters. And all these meters are perfectly developed from the point of view of aerodynamics (Х=0.23), which should have a positive effect on increasing the mileage. And the Volkswagen ID.7 electric car turned out not to be a “sedan” but a “liftback”: pay attention to the trunk lid.
The Volkswagen ID.7 electric car is built on the well-known MEV platform, but the developers have prepared a lot of interesting things. For example, a new electric motor with a capacity of 210 kW (286 hp) is installed to drive the rear wheels, which promises acceleration from 0-100 km/h in about six seconds. Further, we can expect the appearance of versions with all-wheel drive and increased power.
In addition, two versions with different batteries are already expected. The Volkswagen ID.7 electric car in the Pro version will be equipped with a 77 kWh battery, thanks to which it will be able to travel up to 615 km on one full charge. But the Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S electric car will receive an 86 kWh battery (for the first time in the Volkswagen ID line) – and with it, the projected range will reach 700 km.
Finally, the new Volkswagen ID.7 will offer a great interior space (well, of course, taking into account such dimensions) and the latest technologies. So, a 15-inch central display is installed in the interior, a projection with virtual reality is added, and the ventilation deflectors are hidden and automatically adjusted. The manufacturer also promises comfortable seats with AGR certificates, Harman Kardon audio, an automatic parking system with a 50-meter route memory.
The first Volkswagen ID.7 electric cars will go on sale in Europe and Asia at the end of this year. And at the very beginning of 2024, the novelty will also reach the US market – thus, the Volkswagen ID.7 electric car will become a global player. We are waiting in Ukraine too!
