The pictures you see here are the first official images of the new MINI. That is, this is an already approved model design. The novelty may seem similar to previous MINIs, but in fact we have a lot of changes.

For example, the signature “face” with almost round headlights has been preserved, but the headlights themselves have received a different internal filling with straight lines. Pay attention to the side parts as well: the plastic overlays on the wheel arches have disappeared, the slope of the front roof rack has increased, and the entire interior seems to have been moved back. Finally, completely different lights are used in the back, which resemble triangles in shape and are connected by a dark strip.

The photos show the electric version of the new product, namely the MINI Cooper S. This is important, because two electric versions are expected to appear at once.

So, the MINI Cooper EV electric car should offer customers an engine with a power of about 135 kW (184 hp), compared to the current MINI electric car. However, the novelty will receive an increased battery with a capacity of 40 kWh, which should be enough for 300+ km of autonomous mileage.

Another option will be the MINI Cooper S EV, which will get a more powerful electric motor (expected to be around 158 kW or 215 hp) and a larger 54 kWh battery. It should be enough for 400+ km of autonomous mileage.

However, we’ll have to wait for the “baby”: the launch of the new MINI Cooper EV is scheduled for 2024. By then, variants of the MINI Cooper with conventional gasoline engines may also be released.
