At least, this is confirmed by Autocar. After all, the appearance of new electric competitors forces the Ford company to look for a worthy answer. At the same time, the recent launch of Ford’s new commercial electric vehicles offers such an answer – in the form of existing batteries and electric motors.

So, what could the Ford Puma EV electric SUV be like? First, it will preserve the recognizable design: this will reduce the costs of introducing a new model into production. Of the expected differences, only numerous logos and an aerodynamic overlay instead of a radiator grille. Secondly, the Ford Puma EV SUV should get a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor and a 50-55 kWh battery – these components are currently freely available from Ford and are suitable for the Puma model platform. Such indicators will allow acceleration from 0-100 km/h in nine seconds and an autonomous range of up to 370 km.

Third, it is expected to support fast charging with a capacity of up to 100 kW, which will allow you to replenish the battery within 10-80% in just 35 minutes and add energy for 80-90 km of mileage in just 10 minutes. Finally, a few words about the debut date and the cost of the novelty. The Ford Puma EV electric car may enter the market as early as 2024, and its cost will be about 40,000 euros.
