Photos of the new generation of Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds have appeared online. This is the top model in the company’s line, which will replace the WF-1000XM4 earbuds introduced in 2021.

One of the complaints about the fourth generation of earbuds was their size. The image of the new model hints that its body will be more compact than its predecessor. The design of the gadget itself will also change, the earbuds will have a more spherical shape. Let’s hope that such changes will have a positive effect on the fit of the WF-1000XM5 in the ears.

The case of the earbuds will also become more rounded, although in general it will resemble the previous version. A two-pin system will be used to charge the earbuds, instead of a three-pin one. You can also see some changes in the specifications related to charging the case, in particular 5V = 230 mAh. In the previous generation, 5V = 140 mAh was specified, so you can count on support for faster charging.

Photos of the internal components of the earbuds may indicate that the WF-1000XM5 will receive a two-driver system. Which, in turn, will provide users with better sound. However, so far this is only an assumption.

The Sony WF-1000XM5 recently received FCC certification, so we can expect an official announcement of the earbuds in the near future.
