We have a mixture of the “pixel” design of electric cars Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Hyundai Kona EV and the basis in the form of the Hyundai Casper model. Currently this is the smallest SUV from the Korean company. The electric car with the conventional name Hyundai Casper EV will be located in the European A-class, that is, it will be a very compact model – but in the style of an SUV and with an electric motor.
For such an electric car, it is impossible to use the E-GMP platform: it is too expensive and complicated. Therefore, the Hyundai Casper EV model will be built on the K1 platform, which is currently used as the basis for small cars from Hyundai and KIA. Among the other information that has already been known – the use of an integrated BorgWarner iDM module (electric motor plus power/control units) with a capacity of up to 135 kW or 184 “horses” is expected.
