The release of the movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is only a few weeks away, so companies continue to bombard viewers with trailers. This time the trailer has a little more humor and dragons.

Let us remind you that this is not the first attempt to make a movie based on the popular role-playing system Dungeons & Dragons by TSR / Wizards of the Coast, used in hundreds of board and video games.

The first feature film Dungeons & Dragons, starring Jeremy Irons as the main villain, came out in 2000 and didn’t even make back its own budget, even though it was pretty adorable. So the next two movies, Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God and Dungeons & Dragons 3: The Book of Vile Darkness already had a much smaller budget, no stars in the cast, and was released immediately in Direct-to-Video format without a theatrical release.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a reboot of the series with an impressive budget of $151 million compared to $45 million for the first Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis and Hugh Grant. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Horrible Bosses, Vacation, Game Night) directed and wrote the film.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be released on March 31, 2023.
