Ajax Systems, on the initiative of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and local self-government bodies, implemented a solution to protect and preserve the works of the world-famous street artist Banksy in the Kyiv region.

The Ajax wireless security system was installed at four of Banksy’s works in Borodyanka, Irpin and Horenka. This should protect the drawings from possible vandalism. From now on, any attempt to steal or deface the drawings should be immediately responded to by a fast security team. The works will be under protection until they are sent to the museum.

Motion and shock sensors detect attempts to damage or approach an object, activate a nearby street siren and send a notification to the security company via the security system control panel. To protect the works from external factors, transparent impact-resistant polycarbonate walls were installed. A temporary protective structure with a LifeQuality sensor was additionally installed at the place of the picture with the image of a judoka in Borodyanka. It has temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors. The WallSwitch control relay will maintain the microclimate so that the picture does not deteriorate.

The protection system includes about 20 sensors and four security system control panels. The sensors are independent of constant power supply, and the control panel can be located in a remote room. The hub communicates with sensors at a distance of up to 1,700 meters and notifies the security company of an alarm in less than 0.15 seconds.

Banksy’s works appeared in Ukrainian cities in the fall of 2022. Since then, they have become one of the symbols of support for Ukraine. In December 2022, an attempt was made to steal one of the works, so a project to protect the drawings was initiated.
