ChatGPT is growing much faster than TikTok or any other popular app or service. According to the new research by analytics company UBS, in January chatbot developed by OpenAI, reached more than 100 million monthly active users.

According to the research, in the first month of its existence, ChatGPT had 57 million monthly active users. By January, it was visited by about 13 million individual users per day.

In comparison, TikTok took 9 months after its global debut to reach 100 million monthly users, despite its popularity, especially among the younger generation. UBS analyst Lloyd Walmsley noted that Instagram had been around for two and a half years before passing that mark. However, it remains to be seen whether the chatbot will be able to sustain this level of interest in the coming months.

For now, ChatGPT remains free for users. However, the startup intends to start charging for the service and has already begun testing ChatGPT’s $20-per-month paid plan, which offers faster response times and priority access to new features.
