Premium Range Rover Velar SUV has undergone a planned update, which usually falls in the middle of the model’s life cycle. From the outside, the changes are barely noticeable: the most important thing is to note the new “smart” headlights.

Each headlight of the new Range Rover Velar can now have “pixel light”, realized thanks to four separate modules with 67 LEDs. Thanks to this, the headlights can “peek” into a turn, shade oncoming cars, illuminate the road at a distance of up to half a kilometer.

But the interior has changed much more noticeably. The central console is almost completely new: now, instead of separate built-in displays, one solid one is used – a large 11.4-inch touch screen with a branded Pivi Pro “shell”. In addition, from now on, not only leather, but also wool is used for the decoration of seats. This material perfectly retains heat and is 58% lighter than leather.

In addition, the PHEV-hybrid Range Rover Velar P400e received an important update. From now on, thanks to a battery with a capacity of 19.2 kWh, such an SUV can travel up to 64 km on the electric drive – this is 21% more than the predecessor offered. The total power of the Range Rover Velar P400e (gasoline engine plus electric motor) has not changed and is 404 hp, thanks to which acceleration to a hundred km takes only 5.4 seconds.

In addition to the hybrid version, the Range Rover Velar also has regular gasoline or diesel versions: gasoline variants P250 and P400, and turbodiesels D200 and D300. As it has become a tradition for Range Rover, the numbers in the model index indicate the approximate level of power in “horses”. By the way, all versions of the Range Rover Velar will get all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission.

The car is already available for pre-order, sales will start soon.
