Ryanair is hiring a considerable number of Ukrainian pilots and cabin crew to be ready to return to Ukraine when the war ends, said Chief Executive Michael O’Leary, according to Reuters.

“We are very committed to returning to Ukraine as soon as it is safe to do so,” said Mr. O’Leary, “We are hiring quite a number of Ukraine pilots and cabin crew specifically so that we can … restore bases in Ukraine if and when it is safe to do so.”

We remind that on the eve of a full-scale invasion, Ryanair planned to increase the number of aircraft based in Ukraine to 20 over the next three years and announced plans to perform up to 230 flights weekly of three Ukrainian airports in the summer of 2022.
