In the first 8 days of the new year, Steam has twice updated its own records. This was pointed out by The Verge, citing SteamDB data.

Initially, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, 32,186,301 users logged into the Steam client, of which more than 10 million (10,082,055) were playing games at the same time. A day later, on January 8, 2023, the records were renewed – 33,078,963 users in the network, 10,271,632 in games.

The figure of 30 million users on the Steam network was crossed in March 2022, 20 million – two years earlier, in March 2020.

The top 10 most popular Steam games by the number of online players in the last 24 hours (the record for the entire observation time in brackets):
