Among the brands that are increasing the size of their gaming laptops, you can also find Alienware, the gaming sub-brand of Dell. As before, the manufacturer leaves two lines — X and M, but both received changes in the sizes of the still valid models.

The Alienware X lineup currently includes 14-, 15-, and 17-inch laptops. At CES 2023, the company presented 14- and 16-inch updates. Along with the change in the diagonal, the manufacturer updated the aspect ratio, which is now 16:10, which in turn made it possible to get an even larger screen area. Also, these are the first models of the manufacturer, which received 6 speakers each. And, of course, the top gaming laptops did not do without the new Intel Core i9 HX 13 series chips and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards.

Alienware unveils updates to its M and X series gaming laptop lineups, now also featuring 16- and 18-inch options

The situation is similar in the M line, where the M16 and M18 models are new (there are still M15 and M17 at the moment). Yes, the number in the model corresponds to the diagonal of the display. It also uses a 16:10 aspect ratio. And logically, the complete sets also have the latest chips and graphics cards. What’s more, the user will also have the option to add RAM (DDR5) and storage devices (up to 9 TB).

But the company hasn’t experimented much with the design yet, leaving the already familiar appearance in both cases, only slightly refining the details (such as the rubber foot on the bottom panel, which should help with air distribution). Of course, laptops can boast a fair number of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, an SD card reader, and more.

At the beginning of sales, not all possible options will be available. For example, the X16 will cost from $2149, but the first cheapest option will cost the customer $3099, and the first most affordable M18 will cost $2899, although the base version will cost $800 less. Later this year it can also be expected to be equipped with AMD.
