The Chinese company GAC presented a new product – the second generation of the GAC GS3 car. So, before us is a compact 4.41-meter SUV (wheelbase 2.65 m), which attracts attention with a modern and interesting design created by numerous intersections of straight lines. Just look at the side surfaces, the bumper and headlights, the “striped” grille, and the triangular lights.
The GAC GS3 car is built on the modern GPMA platform but without super-modern technologies. Under the hood, there is a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with 177 “horses”, which works in tandem with a 7-speed automated WDCT transmission and front-wheel drive. The full drive is not provided. The front independent suspension of the MacPherson type and the rear semi-independent suspension on the basis of a transverse beam are used. But then what did the new platform bring?
It brought numerous electronic assistants! Adaptive cruise control, accident prevention system and emergency braking, etc. All control is implemented through two touch displays in the cabin, physical controls are minimal. But what is present is beautifully designed – just look at the “box” joystick. And in general, the interior is made in an interesting style, which the manufacturer calls “Mobile Loft”.
The start of sales of the GAC GS3 car will take place in the spring of 2023. Pricing will be announced closer to that time.
