Volkswagen’s line of electric cars is already mature enough for the manufacturer to start announcing next-generation models. One of the first such releases will be the updated ID.3, which takes into account the feedback on the first version, while modernizing the technologies. The compact electric car now has a more “mature” design and higher-quality interior materials. Importantly, it got a larger 12-inch infotainment display, two cup holders on the center console and a removable luggage compartment floor.

VW also emphasizes that the new ID.3 will use the company’s “latest” software platform, which increases performance and allows for over-the-air updates. It will have some feature updates, including easier charging for electric vehicles, adaptive lane control and parking aids.

Volkswagen won’t officially unveil the updated ID.3 until the spring, and pre-orders placed now won’t arrive until the last quarter of 2023 due to “high order volume.” With all that, the company maintains the current starting price of 43,995 euros for the Life configuration. Business, Style, Max and Tour variants will also be available.
