AMD does not plan to use the 16-pin (12+4) 12VHPWR power connector to connect additional power. This applies to both Radeon RX 6000 series models and expected adapters based on graphics processors with RDNA 3 architecture. Scott Herkelman, SVP, and GM of AMD Radeon Group, reported this on Twitter.

This suggests that the manufacturer will rely on standard 8-pin PCI-E connectors, each of which can provide up to 150W of power. In turn, this means that top adapters with a consumption of more than 375 W will need three such connectors. It is expected that the new video cards of the Radeon RX 7000 series will be presented by AMD on November 3. Probably then all the structural details will be there.
