Together with iPad and iPad Pro tablets, Apple announced an updated model of the Apple TV 4K television set-top box with an A15 Bionic processor, HDR10+ support and an updated Siri Remote at a starting price of $129.
The A15 Bionic chip provides Apple TV 4K with “higher performance and smoother gameplay,” Apple says. The A15’s efficiency improvements allow Apple TV to deliver a thinner, lighter, fanless design for the first time, and it uses nearly 30% less power than the previous generation, the company says.
The device now supports HDR10+ for better reproduction of dynamic scenes in videos. The new Apple TV 4K also comes with an updated Siri remote with a USB-C port.
The new Apple TV 4K is available in a 64GB Wi-Fi configuration starting at $129 in the US, and there is also a 128GB Wi-Fi and Ethernet configuration for $149.
