Volvo’s subsidiary brand, which not so long ago started producing electric cars – Polestar – has opened pre-orders for the first model in the SUV class. Polestar 3 will be assembled in South Carolina (USA) and should reach buyers in late 2023-early 2024.

The Polestar 3 received a 111-kilowatt battery, with which it should cover 610 km (379 miles) on a single charge (WLTP). At the same time, acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes only 5 seconds. Two motors with a total power of 483 hp work on it, and for an additional $ 6,000 you can get a 510-horsepower Performance Pack, which accelerates in 4.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is set at 210 km/h (130 mph). There is also support for 250-watt fast charging.

Traditionally, Polestar borrows a lot of safety technology from Volvo. Polestar 3 will be equipped with a set of cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors. There will also be another radar in the interior that will follow the child in the chair. For a separate payment, you can get LiDAR to implement autonomous control of the Pilot Pack.

Inside, there will be a 14.5-inch multimedia display that will work with the new generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. Polestar 3 will also be the first car of the brand to use NVIDIA Drive to implement auxiliary control functions.

The Plus Pack and Pilot Pack will also get Bowers & Wilkins with 25 speakers, heads-up displays, and park and ride assist systems.

The starting price of this model is $85,300.
