Microsoft is making major changes to the brand of its office package: from now on it will be called Microsoft 365. The name Microsoft Office has lasted for more than 30 years, but now, according to the management of the corporation, it no longer reflects the current state of the package, which has included a large number of programs during this time .

The company has been quite active in promoting this brand recently. For example, two years ago the Office 365 subscription was renamed Microsoft 365. But now the changes will be much more serious: as explained in official FAQ, “in the coming months Office.com, the Office mobile apps and Office for Windows will be rebranded as Microsoft 365, with new icons, a new look and new features.” First, the site will change in November of this year, then the turn of applications will come – they will be updated in January 2023.

Microsoft Office will be renamed Microsoft 365. Now it is final. Almost

Microsoft 365 will include the following applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Loop, Clipchamp, Stream and Designer. To combine them both in mobile and desktop versions, there will be a central “hub”: with user files and documents, with a feed of events and colleagues, etc.

But the Microsoft Office brand won’t disappear entirely, at least not yet: the company is leaving the option for home and business users to buy through a one-time purchase Office 2021 and Office LTSC 2021.
