The trailer of the Ukrainian film Pamfir directed by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, which will be released in France on November 2, 2022, is presented. In addition, the tape was sold for rental in Canada, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, Indonesia, Slovakia and the Baltic countries. The premiere of the film in Ukrainian cinemas is scheduled for 2023.

The events of the film take place in western Ukraine on the eve of the traditional Malanka carnival. The main character of the film named Pamfir returns to his family after a long absence. When his son sets fire to a house of worship, Pamfir is forced to reconnect with his troubled criminal past.

The main roles in the film were played by Oleksandr Yatsentyuk, Solomiia Kyrylova, Stanislav Potyak, Myroslav Makoviichuk, Olena Khokhlatkina, and Ivan Sharan. In addition to professional actors, ordinary residents of Bukovyna were involved in the filming of mass scenes.

The movie was selected for participation in the 54th Directors’ Fortnight – a parallel program of the Cannes International Film Festival, which took place from May 18 to 27, 2022. After a successful premiere in Cannes, Pamfir was selected for the programs of more than 40 festivals in 25 countries of the world.
