NASA postponed the launch of the Artemis 1 rocket to the moon to September 3

Due to bad weather in the forecast on Friday, NASA decided to postpone the launch of the Artemis 1 rocket to Saturday, September 3. At a media briefing, the space agency said there was a 60 percent chance of Friday’s launch being postponed due to weather conditions. NASA will now have a two-hour window on Saturday, September 3, starting at 2:17 p.m. EDT (21:17 Kyiv time).

The first attempt to launch Artemis 1 took place on August 29, however, NASA’s launch teams were unable to cool the four RS-25 engines to about minus -251 degrees Celsius, with engine 3 exhibiting higher temperatures than the others. The crews also noticed a hydrogen leak at a component of the tail service mast’s quick-disconnect tube, called a blowdown tank, and managed the leak by manually adjusting the fuel flow rate.

So this will be NASA’s second attempt to launch its massive next-generation rocket. Meteorologists at the US Delta 45 Space Launch Complex predict favorable weather conditions for Saturday. Although rain is expected, it is forecast to be sporadic during the launch.
