The vivo company has already demonstrated a smartphone, the back side of which, with the help of photochromic glass, changed color under the influence of ultraviolet rays. It was the model V23. Today it received an update — vivo V25 Pro.
This is a mid-range smartphone, the emphasis of which, of course, is on the unusual feature of its body. The model has two main colors — Pure Black and Sailing Blue. But it is the latter that changes its shade under direct sunlight from, as the company notes on its website, clear sky to deep sea.
Among other things, it is quite a familiar device for its category, albeit with some improvements. The case consists of glass on both sides and has dimensions of 158.9×73.5×8.6 mm and weighs 190 grams. Closer to the sides of the case, it is slightly curved, as was previously the case with flagship smartphones. Also, the stand is protected only against splashes of water, not immersion in it.
The entire front part is reserved for a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a small cutout for the camera. Its resolution is 2376×1080 pixels, and the refresh rate is 120 Hz. There is support for HDR10+, and the maximum level of illumination is 1300 cd/m².
In addition, there is an optical fingerprint scanner under the display.
The main camera unit houses three sensors: a wide-angle 64-megapixel with ƒ/1.89, an ultra-wide-angle with 8 MP and ƒ/2.2, as well as a 2-megapixel macro with ƒ/2.4. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP and an aperture value of ƒ/2.45.
MediaTek Dimensity 1300 works inside, and the memory configurations have two options: 8/128 and 12/256 GB. The smartphone supports operation in 5G networks, has Wi-Fi ac standard, Bluetooth 5.2 and works with popular navigation systems. Among other things, NFC is not indicated, but we can assume that support may depend on the region of sale (the previous model sold in Ukraine had NFC).
Android 12 with the proprietary Funtouch OS 12 skin is used as the operating system.
The battery with a capacity of 4830 mAh is responsible for operation support. The package includes a charger with the possibility of 66-watt fast charging (40% in 15 minutes and 71% in 30). It is noted that the smartphone will adjust its power depending on the usage scenarios.
The start of sales is scheduled for the end of August in India. Depending on the configuration, its price will be approximately $450 and $500, respectively. There is currently no information on Ukrainian prices.
