The Forgotten Saga, a free expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that uses some roguelike mechanics, is now available in the game.

In The Forgotten Saga, Odin, unable to bear the news of the death of Baldr, the god of dying and reviving nature, sets out to Niflheim to find his son. As in many roguelike games, the death mechanic is an integral part of this game, so you won’t be able to complete the entire add-on the first time, and moreover, you will need several passes to open all the quests and locations. Odin’s parameters and skills can be improved between runs through Niflheim.

Of course, as always, the update will include new weapons and armor, a mount, a tattoo, and so on.

The Forgotten Saga, a free add-on for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

As a reminder, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released back in 2020, and now the second year of game support is coming to an end. And Ubisoft has had a bad year with big releases for the second year in a row, and recently even Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was postponed to 2023. That’s why Assassin’s Creed will have to work for everything else.

The future of the 15-year-old series is set to be revealed at a special event in September 2022, but there are rumors that the new Assassin’s Creed will not appear until spring 2023.
