Microsoft released a lightweight application Outlook Lite for Android. This version is designed to use less memory and use less battery power but includes the main features of the regular Microsoft Outlook mobile application.

Outlook Lite is about 5MB in size, and Microsoft says it “uses extremely little memory on your smartphone.” The app has been optimized to run fast on all Android devices, even those with only 1GB of RAM. Since it is lighter, it uses fewer smartphone resources and should save battery usage. Most importantly, Outlook Lite is designed to work on all mobile networks, including 2G and 3G, which are still used in many countries around the world.

Outlook Lite is currently available in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Venezuela. The app supports Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, MSN, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Exchange Online accounts.
