Despite the similarity in name, MultiVersus has nothing to do with Zuckerberg’s Metaverse and all other “metaverses”. MultiVersus is a free-to-play fighting platformer (2×2, 1×1 and all vs. all) that was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and features characters from various universes owned by Warner Bros., DC Comics, HBO, Turner Entertainment and Cartoon Network.

Currently, MultiVersus features almost two dozen fighters — Batman, Arya Stark, Rick and Morty, Tom and Jerry, and more. At the same time, they can fight each other without any restrictions, so players can find out who is stronger – Wonder Woman or Bugs Bunny, Superman or the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes. Sound crazy? The trailers of the game also have, let’s say, an unusual look, but with the gameplay, it seems that everything is at least not bad in MultiVersus.

It seems that the publisher was satisfied with Early Access on Steam (with a peak online of more than 60 thousand players) and yesterday opened access to the beta to everyone – judging by the current rating (91% positive reviews and almost 19 thousand ratings), players like MultiVersus so far.

The game will be distributed according to the free-to-play scheme. The basic version can be played for free, and additional features (discovery of characters, battle passes, cosmetics, internal currency, etc.) are available for a separate fee. There are currently three different “Founder’s Packs” available on Steam, costing from 1,399 to 3,299 UAH. How long the open beta will last is currently unknown, but the start of the first season is expected on August 9 – most likely, this day will be the actual “soft launch” of the game.
