Genshin Impact, an open-world role-playing game from Chinese developer Hoyoverse, is soon to receive a major update to version 3.0, codenamed Sumeru (the previous update of the same importance, Inazuma, was released a year ago).

A new Sumeru region will appear in the game, which will be divided into two main parts: the rainforest and the desert. What they will look like, the developer demonstrated in a new video:

New biomes make an impression with spectacular landscapes and organically fit into the fantasy design of the game. Yes, there will be a city “built” on a large tree in the forest, and ancient ruins in the desert. Also, the Sumeru update will add a new “herb” element — Dendro, which should update the combat system.

In addition, the game will receive a new storyline with a confrontation with the Fatui Harbingers – one of the main villains in Teyvat. There is no official release date for Genshin Impact 3.0 yet, but if the developer sticks to its own schedule of releasing updates every six weeks from now on, we should expect the Sumeru update at the end of August.
