According to the sources of CNN, this week the United States plans to announce the acquisition of Ukraine’s advanced medium-range and long-range missile defense system.

President Joe Biden has previously said that the United States will provide Ukraine with “better missile systems and ammunition” as the war with Russia escalates. On Monday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is to address Biden and other G7 leaders in a virtual format.

Other military assistance, including additional artillery ammunition and counter-battery radars, will also be announced this week in response to requests from Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian officials have requested a missile defense system known as NASAMS, given that weapons can hit targets at a distance of up to 40 km. However, the Ukrainian military will first have to undergo training there.
