The Russian Gerber drones that were shot down in Poland on the night of September 10 were equipped with additional fuel tanks, military analyst Colonel General of the General Staff reported.

According to him, these drones had a non-standard configuration — in addition to the main tank in the tail compartment, they were equipped with another tank in the nose. Thanks to it, the drones were able to cover a distance of more than 700 km, which is the maximum in the basic configuration, which allowed them to penetrate the territory of Poland through Belarus.

The Russian Defense Ministry previously stated that it did not plan to strike targets in Poland and denied the drones' ability to reach its borders.

"Gerbera" is a multifunctional "Shahed-like" Russian drone with a speed of 160 km/h, which is used for strike and reconnaissance missions. It can also be used as a repeater or decoy. We previously wrote that Russia uses four modifications of "Shahed" for attacks on Ukraine, one of which is "Gerbera".

By the way, during the combined Russian air attack on the night of September 10, almost 100 enemy drones were shot down in the Kyiv region thanks to interceptor drones.
