The Polish company WB Group, which produces FlyEye drones, has launched a new production facility in Ukraine, according to the company's press release.
Production was launched in early 2025 at one of the Ukrainian enterprises, which had previously served Polish products for the Ukrainian army for a decade.
The start of production was not announced for security reasons. However, after the plant was visited by the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, Piotr Lukasiewicz, this information was made public.
It is noted that the first Polish FlyEye UAVs appeared in service with the Ukrainian military back in 2015. They were used during hostilities in Donbas, as well as during the full-scale Russian invasion.
FlyEye was developed in 2010. It weighs 11 kg, can be carried in backpacks by two people, and is launched by hand. The drone is capable of flying up to 50 km from the operator, and can be in the sky for 2-3 hours. It has a day and thermal camera for observation.
The drone is equipped with an electric motor, and most operations are performed on autopilot. The third generation of the drone has an automatic convoy mode, which allows it to accompany allies or pursue a target.
Previously, the German company Quantum Systems launched a network of secret drone production factories in Ukraine, where about 80 reconnaissance drones are produced every month.
