The Ukrainian company TENETA has introduced (via Militarnyi) a new means of combating enemy drones - the MITLA 1 disposable net launcher. Its main function is to neutralize FPV drones and reconnaissance quadcopters by entangling their propellers with a special net.
MITLA weighs 365 grams and has compact dimensions – 200 mm long and 40 mm in diameter, making it easy to fit into military equipment. To use, simply pull the safety catch, aim and fire with a special button, after which the 3.5×3.5 meter net automatically deploys within 0.2 seconds of launch and prevents the drone from moving.
MITLA demonstrates stable operation in various temperature conditions - both in heat and in frost. The maximum effective firing range is up to 25 meters. The device has a strong recoil due to the use of a 7.62 mm caliber pyro cartridge, so it is recommended to hold it with both hands.
MITLA is positioned as a low-cost solution for rapid response to air threats, especially relevant in conditions of positional combat.
Also recently, to combat enemy FPV drones, the Brave1 defense cluster initiated the development of anti-drone rounds. These 5.56 mm caliber rounds have a special warhead that will help significantly increase the chances of hitting an FPV drone or Mavic before it has time to attack.
