The Turkish portal SavunmaSanayiST.com has published a video of the test of the super-powerful air bomb "GAZAP" ("Anger"). The feature of this air bomb is a thermobaric charge weighing almost a ton, which makes GAZAP the most powerful non-nuclear air bomb in Turkey's history.
According to Turkish media, when detonated, the bomb breaks up into 10 main fragments, which scatter about 10 thousand metal particles in the explosion radius. This technical solution increases the area of damage and the effectiveness of use. The bomb is based on the American model Mk-84, but Turkish media claim that GAZAP has higher combat characteristics due to a significant increase in explosive force and the effect of fragments.
Additional technical parameters of the bomb, as well as information about its development, are not currently disclosed.
By the way, recently, the Turkish company Roketsan presented the Tayfun Block 4 ballistic missile at the international defense industry exhibition IDEF 2025 - the first hypersonic development of this type in the country.
