At the end of June, the "My Technologies" module will appear in the "Army+" application, which will allow military personnel to provide feedback on equipment or a request for its modernization directly to the manufacturer. Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko told this in an interview with DOU.
The main goal of the module is to build interaction between the military and the supplier so that the military does not have to look for the manufacturer or its support service on their own. It will also allow you to see how many incidents have occurred with a particular manufacturer, how they react and whether they promptly resolve problems. Based on this information, the Ministry of Defense will have an understanding of how to further manage procurement.
How will it work? Military personnel who are verified in the "Army+" application will only need to enter the product serial number and leave a review about the equipment. Then the system automatically identifies the manufacturer, sends them a request, and receives a response in accordance with the service agreement.
Which manufacturers will be contacted? According to the deputy, this solution will work primarily with manufacturers who have signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
"First of all, we will launch this with manufacturers who have signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense. Because we have influence over them, an agreement on maintenance, corrections. And then we will see. As you know, there will soon be a decentralized procurement model, when the brigade will be able to directly purchase certain nomenclatures from manufacturers. And if the brigades contact the Ministry of Defense with a request to add manufacturers with whom they have direct contracts, we will do it," said Kateryna Chernogorenko
All incidents, according to the deputy, will be transferred to the General Staff, which will then decide what to buy, as well as the Ministry of Defense, which signs procurement contracts.
It is emphasized that the connection between the military and the manufacturer will be protected. The military who made the request will receive a solution to the problem personally in a protected messenger, directly from the manufacturer. This will avoid a common list of products and manufacturers.
