The Ukrainian delegation, during its visit to Denmark, conducted demonstration exercises to counter strike drones, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced.
As part of the exchange of combat experience, Ukrainian specialists launched a Sting interceptor drone into the air, which successfully destroyed the target — a Danish Banshee drone that was simulating a threat.
Representatives of several European countries were invited to the demonstration. They had the opportunity to assess with their own eyes the effectiveness of Ukrainian solutions in combating air threats.
The event was part of a mission that Ukrainian military personnel deployed to Denmark to share their experience in countering Russian or any other drones, as previously announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Sting is a Ukrainian interceptor drone developed by a group of engineers from Wild Hornets specifically to combat Russian Shahed strike drones, making it one of the first specialized Ukrainian anti-drone UAVs.
It is equipped with an AI targeting system, is capable of speeds up to 315 km/h and climbs to an altitude of up to 3 km. The drone is controlled by the operator using VR glasses, and its cost (~$2500) is significantly lower than anti-aircraft missiles, making it a cost-effective weapon against the "shaheds".
By the way, President Zelenskyy previously also stated that Ukraine and Denmark are launching the first joint UAV production line.
