Ukraine will become a major supplier of military equipment to Europe after the war with Russia ends, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said in an interview with Fox News, United24 Media reports.
"They're going to certainly be a large provider of military equipment to Europe as they spend this 5% that they all agreed to. And so that's going to be crucial," Whitaker noted.
Many Ukrainian military developments are already attracting interest in Europe. In particular, these are drones and systems to combat them, as they have already proven their effectiveness in real battles.
Defense officials in Europe view Ukraine not only as a warring state, but also as a future arms exporter capable of supplying equipment tested in real combat conditions.
Whitaker also emphasized that significant funding, mostly from Europe, will flow to Ukraine to support post-war reconstruction.
It was previously reported that the EU will discuss the production of drones for Ukraine under a new mechanism.
