More than 85,000 military drones have been delivered by the UK to Ukraine in just six months this year, the UK Ministry of Defence has announced.

This was made possible by accelerating the production of UAVs by British companies and supporting jobs in Ukraine and Britain.

Defense Minister John Healy also confirmed for the first time that in 2025 the United Kingdom has invested 600 million pounds sterling in accelerating the supply of drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

These deliveries included tens of thousands of short-range FPV drones, which are crucial to supporting Ukraine’s front lines. These UAVs are used for precision strikes, reconnaissance, and disruption of Russian activities behind the front lines.

The department emphasized that the next meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine will be held in Brussels on October 15. During it, John Healy plans to address allies and state that they need to "increase drone production to outpace Putin's escalation" after Russian drone strikes on Ukraine and their dangerous incursions into European airspace.

Also, new battlefield data in Ukraine is now being implemented to facilitate mass production of Octopus interceptor drones. Britain plans to supply Ukraine with thousands of new, improved interceptor drones every month.

The United Kingdom previously delivered hundreds of LMM anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine almost six months ahead of schedule. The missiles were manufactured at a factory in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and are part of the British donation program.
