To protect the Ukrainian sky, an air-to-air air defense system is being created, capable of protecting large territories. It is being developed by the MaXon team, which is a member of the Brave1 cluster. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
"+1 solution for protecting the sky - Brave1 participant is creating an air-to-air air defense complex. Protecting the sky from enemy drones is one of the priorities of the Ukrainian defense industry," he wrote.
The government official did not provide technical specifications for the new development. However, he clarified that it is a system with its own guidance system and high-speed interceptors.
It is also not yet known when the system will be put on combat duty. However, according to Mikhail Fedorov, the new system is already undergoing combat testing in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that thanks to the support of Brave1, the MaXon team successfully closed the first round of investments, in particular from Freedom Fund and Defender Ventures. Within the next round, the team continues fundraising to accelerate R&D and scaling of the new system.
Mikhail Fedorov also stated that MaXon technology integrates solutions from other Brave1 participants.
