At the Defense Tech Valley 2025 exhibition, Toloka showed off its new underwater drones. Militarnyi writes about this.

The first model is TOLOKA-1000. It is a diesel-electric autonomous vehicle with a composite hull that can dive to a depth of up to 1,000 meters. The range is up to 3,000 km, the speed is from 5 to 15 knots. It can carry up to 5 tons of payload. The diameter of the underwater drone is 1.5 meters.

The drone is equipped with a rechargeable battery and electric motors. Its autonomy is up to three months, the batteries are recharged from a diesel generator. The drone is capable of performing monitoring, reconnaissance, surveillance and strike missions.

According to the publication, testing of the onboard equipment is currently underway, after which sea trials are planned. Then the drone will go into series production. Serial production of the TOLOKA-400 and TOLOKA-200 models is also being prepared.

It is noted that the TOLOKA-400 has a range of 1200 km, a payload capacity of over 500 kg and a gasoline engine. The body can be composite or metal. The version with a metal body dives to a depth of up to 30 meters. The drone is capable of performing reconnaissance or kamikaze tasks.

As for the TOLOKA-200, it is a small drone with a range of 200 km, a payload of 20 kg and a speed of over 15 knots. It has an inertial navigation system on board, a radio and Internet communication complex, as well as a radar for targeting. The "Dvokhsota" version performs mining or mine search tasks, and can also work as a reconnaissance or kamikaze drone.

All these models can operate autonomously or in groups, interaction occurs via acoustic modems or radio communication using the IP protocol. All versions have satellite and inertial navigation capabilities. All drones also have artificial intelligence for recognizing ships by acoustic features. It should be noted that some components, including engines, electronic components, sonars, gyroscopes, hydrophones and navigation systems, are imported.

Earlier, it was reported that an underwater drone that can change its tasks thanks to AI was shown at the DSEI 2025 exhibition in London. This device can operate autonomously for up to 16 weeks.
