The first seven universities have joined the Brave1 military technology development cluster to develop Ukrainian defense tech through students and scientists. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
"Today, developers are faced with problems that scientists can help with. At the same time, the active involvement of the student community in solving the urgent needs of the front is important. That is why we are starting in-depth cooperation with higher education institutions. This will become a separate Brave1 project aimed at attracting scientific potential for the development of Ukraine's defense sector and at the same time creating new opportunities for young people who are receiving engineering education," Fedorov noted.
Cooperation with Brave1 involves:
· holding joint events aimed at developing technologies, including hackathons;
· support for universities in developing innovative solutions in the field of defense;
· involving scientists in consulting developers;
· organization of student internships in Brave1 cluster companies.
To date, the first seven universities have already joined the Brave1 cluster:
· Oles Honchar Dnipro National University;
· National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute";
· Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics;
· Institution of higher education "Ukrainian Catholic University";
· National University "Lviv Polytechnic";
· State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute";
· Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology.
According to Fedorov, the list of universities will be expanded.
It was previously announced that the largest investment summit in defense technologies, Brave1 Defense Tech Valley 2025, will be held in Lviv. The event will be held on September 16–17 and will bring together more than 5,000 participants from Ukraine, Europe, the USA, the Middle East, and Asia.
