Pilots of the 59th Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed a Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter thanks to an FPV drone. This was reported by the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brovdi (call sign "Madyar").
He did not specify the direction where the incident occurred, but published a short video showing a hit enemy helicopter.
According to information from open sources, the Mi-28 helicopter is designed to search for and destroy armored vehicles, low-speed air targets, and enemy manpower in conditions of active fire counteraction.
The development of the helicopter began in 1978, and the first prototype made its debut flight in the fall of 1982. The Mi-28 has a maximum speed of 320 km/h, and its cost in 2002 was estimated at $15-16 million.
By the way, in August 2024, it was reported that a Ukrainian FPV drone hit a Russian Mi-28 in the air for the first time in history. According to DW, SBU special forces shot down a helicopter in Kursk.
