Operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces have hit a rare electronic warfare station "Zhytel", according to a report by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' SBS.
"The R-330Zh "Zhytel" radio jamming station is an extremely rare and expensive target. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the destruction of only 23 such enemy systems has been visually confirmed. Recently, in Luhansk region, fighters of the 412th Nemesis Regiment, in cooperation with the aerial reconnaissance of one of the units of the State Border Guard Service, discovered and burned just such a rare specimen," the report says.
The Unmanned Systems Forces explained that "Zhytel" is a complex and multifunctional system. According to its technical characteristics, it can jam ground radio communications at a range of up to 25 km, and aircraft communications at a range of up to 50 km.
"The station locates sources of radio radiation and determines the coordinates of their location, establishes radio interference for satellite communications, GPS navigation, and GSM base stations," the SBS added.
By the way, on the night of September 30, units of the Special Operations Forces hit the radar station of the Russian S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile system.
In addition, recently, the GUR special unit of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "Prymary" burned two enemy An-26s in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea and hit the Russian radar.
