A robot dog, designed to effectively and safely support demining operations, will help sappers in the Kyiv region. It has begun service in the pyrotechnic unit of the Mobile Rescue Center of Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. This is stated in the center's message on Facebook.
"This is not just a mechanical assistant, but a new generation mobile platform that combines robotics, computer vision systems, and intelligent motion control," the report said.
The robotic assistant is equipped with a high-resolution front-facing camera. It transmits clear images in real time, allowing sappers to remotely assess the situation.

It is noted that the multi-stage drive system allows it to perform complex maneuvers: from jumps and squats to moving on two legs. The optimized power system allows it to develop high speed and work for a long time without recharging.
"Unlike traditional tracked robot manipulators, which are effective only on relatively flat areas, the robot dog is able to overcome urban and natural barriers: stairs, curbs, rocky sections, sand or thick grass. Its anthropomorphic kinematics provide stability and maneuverability where other equipment is powerless," the Mobile Rescue Center of Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine noted.
It was emphasized here that the integration of a robotic "four-legged sapper" into demining processes not only increases the efficiency of operations, but also significantly reduces risks for sappers.
By the way, a mine detection system that includes drones with artificial intelligence was recently tested in Ukraine. The testing was conducted on a lake in the Kyiv region, where ammunition remained after the 2022 fighting.
