On August 30, 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a missile strike on a Russian FSB facility near Armyansk in occupied Crimea. As previously reported by Astra, the attack used Neptune cruise missiles. According to preliminary information, the strike damaged six boats and killed one Russian serviceman.
However, Militarnyi found out in military circles that the object was hit by "Flamingo" cruise missiles, not "Neptune".
This is confirmed by a recent video of the launch of three Flamingo missiles, which appeared on the Nikolaevskiy Vanyok Telegram channel. The strike itself was carried out on the morning of August 30, and a video of the missile launches appeared online today, August 31.
New satellite images from the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem service have confirmed the damage to the facility: the main building of the outpost has been destroyed, and damage to the surrounding area has been recorded. However, the exact scale of the destruction is difficult to assess due to the low resolution of the images.
The Flamingo missile has a warhead weighing 1,150 kg, a range of over 3,000 km, and a maximum speed of 950 km/h. It is also protected from Russian electronic warfare systems.
"Flamingo" is currently being produced at a rate of about one per day. By October, this figure is planned to be increased to seven missiles per day. According to President Zelenskyy, the tests of this missile have been successfully completed and its serial production will start early next year.
