The Ukrainian company "Babay", which specializes in electronic warfare systems, presented a new development — a portable drone detector "PES Sirko". The device can work both autonomously and in integration with electronic warfare systems. A company representative told a Defense journalist about this.
"PES Sirko" scans the air 360 degrees and is able to detect drones at a distance of up to 2 km, depending on the signal strength. The operating range is from 150 to 6000 MHz, which allows you to record FPV drones, DJI, Autel and other reconnaissance devices that use these frequencies.
Thanks to the patch cord, the device can be connected to a laptop to view the recorded frequencies and identify potential threats.
A key feature is the ability to integrate with electronic warfare systems. In this case, the activation of electronic warfare means occurs automatically, without operator intervention.
"PES Sirko" is compatible with both Babay's own solutions ("ZhUK" 2M) which can be connected via a special connector, and with complexes from other manufacturers. For the latter, an additional start relay must be installed, after which the detector can be connected to a single system.
The device weighs 2 kg, has a metal case with IP54 protection against dust and moisture and can work autonomously for 6–8 hours. It is also possible to connect to a car battery. With Internet access, the detector supports the function of automatic software updates.
Previously, Oboronka reported that Piranha Tech had developed a new modular electronic warfare system to combat Mavics and FPV drones.
