The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially admitted into operation the remotely controlled combat module "ShaBlya MK19(M)", designed for conducting dense and accurate fire from an automatic MK19 grenade launcher of 40 mm caliber. This is reported by Militarnyi. The development is adapted for installation on ground robotic complexes and vehicles, and the platform can be controlled by 1-2 people.
The turret provides a wide firing sector of 165°, as well as vertical guidance angles from -5° to +65°, which allows for direct and indirect guidance. The integrated software includes a ballistic calculator that automatically calculates elevation and roll corrections. The module operator can also mark targets on a digital map, and the system remembers them and automatically guides them when they change.
In addition, it is possible to adjust fire sectors, select firing modes and conduct "hot aiming". The module's optics include a viewing and aiming camera with digital zoom.
According to the developers, the codification of "Chablis MK19(M)" paves the way for serial deliveries to the army, strengthening the combat capabilities of the Defense Forces in difficult areas of the front.
History
The first "Shablya" turret was first used in combat conditions in 2014. It was officially admitted to operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September 2023, and in January 2024, Ukraine first contracted this combat platform.
The development of the Chablis began after the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, when a group of enthusiastic engineers decided to create an automated fire control system. Since then, the turret has undergone an evolution.
In 2024, more than 300 such installations were already used at the front, and they received positive feedback from the military. Fighters of the 5th Separate Assault Kyiv Brigade and the "Da Vinci Wolves" battalion are actively using the "Sabre" in combat missions together with the "Lynx" ground drone.
