Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal officially confirmed Ukraine's production of Flamingo missiles with a range of up to 3,000 km. He made the announcement during the presentation of the government's action program.
According to the head of the defense department, the Flamingo is a powerful weapon, but he promised to announce the main characteristics later.
"As for the details, everyone saw the key details yesterday. This is a powerful weapon, long-range, very powerful - and it is. These are the key details, and we will find out everything else when the right moment comes," the Minister of Defence noted.
The Babel resource provides the following characteristics of the rocket:
- range: 3000 km;
- time in the air: over 4 hours;
- maximum speed: 950 km/h;
- cruising speed: 850-900 km/h;
- wingspan: 6 meters;
- maximum take-off weight: 6000 kg;
- warhead weight: 1000 kg.
Earlier it became known that mass production of Flamingo cruise missiles has begun in Ukraine, and the first videos of such missile launches have also appeared. The new missiles are equipped with a warhead weighing 1,150 kg and have electronic warfare protection.
